Dr. Errol Montgomery moderates session at University of Arizona's Water Resources Research Center Spring ConferencePrescott, Arizona – May 5, 2003 – On May 1- 2, 2003, the University of Arizona's Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) sponsored a spring conference at the Prescott Resort: "Local Approaches to Resolving Water Resource Issues: What's Working, What Hasn't Worked, and Building on Existing Efforts." Conference presentations included assessments of current state and regional water management strategies and identification of new and emerging management needs and approaches. The WRRC attracted speakers and attendees from across the state to foster understanding of the differences, as well as the similarities, in water resource challenges. The spring event was the latest in a series of conferences sponsored by the WRRC. The intent of the conferences is to provide a forum for various state interests to discuss critical water issues. The spring conference included a full-day session on Thursday with an early evening reception, and a half-day session on Friday featuring a State Officials' Panel. More detailed information is posted on the WRRC Website at http://ag.arizona.edu/AZWATER. Hard copies of program information are available by contacting the WRRC at (520) 792-3124.
