M&A is seeking candidates for a position of mid- to senior-level mining hydrologist based in our home office in Tucson. The individual would be part of a team of geologists and hydrologists with extensive, diverse, and advanced experience. M&A is currently conducting numerous mine hydrology studies in both in North and South America.
The position would involve planning and managing investigations related to mine water supply, dewatering, and closure. The position would also include extensive client interaction. Candidate requirements are:
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrology, or other mining-related field
- Ten or more years of experience in mining hydrology, including project management experience
- Experience with drilling, borehole geophysical logging, and design and installation of wells for monitoring, testing, and groundwater production
- Experience in aquifer testing and analysis for fractured-rock and basin-fill aquifers, including discrete testing of fracture flow systems
- Familiarity with numerical groundwater flow modeling techniques for fractured-rock and basin-fill aquifers
- Preferred experience with geotechnical characterization of hard-rock systems
- Preferred experience with hydrogeochemical characterization of groundwater and surface water systems
- Preferred experience with investigation of groundwater contamination and remediation
