Profile
Dr. Nations has over 40 years of professional experience investigating the geology of northern Arizona and energy development on the Colorado Plateau. He started working for M&A in 2006 to participate in a pilot study to evaluate the potential for carbon sequestration and has subsequently provided geologic expertise to other projects. As a faculty member in the Department of Geology at Northern Arizona University, Dr. Nations conducted research on the stratigraphy of the Colorado Plateau — including research on the coal and coal-bed methane resources of Black Mesa.
Dr. Nations is a Registered Professional Geologist in Arizona (23398) and a Certified Professional Geologist (6364) with the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He also served as Vice President of the American Institute of Professional Geologists in 2004 and Editor from 1990 through 1998. He currently chairs the Arizona Oil & Gas Commission.
