Specialty areas: Flow and transport modeling of variably saturated, porous media

Profile

Since joining M&A in 2006, Mark has been instrumental in sharpening and expanding the skills of our already robust Hydrologic Modeling team. His work has focused on developing analytical methods for characterizing and making projections regarding complex hydrogeologic systems — both saturated and unsaturated. These methods include applying inverse procedures to estimate aquifer hydraulic properties. Mark draws on his geologic and mathematical skills to model aquifer responses for a range of applications, including mine pit dewatering, tailings management, and aquifer recharge and recovery.

Prior to joining M&A, Mark conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Arizona, characterizing flow and transport through the deep unsaturated zone at the field scale. He also served as Assistant Professor of Hydrogeology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
