M&A offers exciting new capabilities in the area of CO2 sequestration.
Injecting CO2 into deep, saline aquifers is becoming an area of intensive exploration for mitigating greenhouse gases that are generated through the burning of fossil fuels. Under the appropriate geologic conditions, CO2 captured from power plants or refineries can be stored in deep aquifers with naturally poor water quality.
M&A works with utility partners and other interests to investigate the feasibility of sequestering CO2 in deep saline aquifers in northern Arizona, a process that entails characterizing hydrogeologic conditions in detail, designing and drilling deep exploration wells, and conducting pilot tests on key geologic horizons.
