Contaminant Assessment & Remediation
Montgomery & Associates has provided effective characterization and
mitigation solutions for many environmental challenges related to releases
of regulated compounds to soil and groundwater. Our experience includes
federal and state Superfund projects impacted by industrial solvents and
fuel hydrocarbons, where regional subsurface contamination occurs in complex
hydrogeologic environments with multiple potentially responsible parties.
We have also addressed localized contamination associated with active
industrial facilities.
Contaminant Assessment services include:
- Preparing sampling plans, quality assurance project plans, health
and safety plans, and Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study reports.
- Supporting negotiations between potentially responsible parties and
federal and state agencies from initial site characterization through
final remedial design and implementation.
- Designing and supervising construction of groundwater and soil vapor
monitor, extraction, and injection wells.
- Characterizing and interpreting spatial and temporal distribution
of contaminants in the vadose zone and in groundwater.
- Designing, constructing, and implementing computer models of vadose
zone and groundwater systems.
- Obtaining representative soil vapor, soil, and groundwater samples
in accordance with regulatory protocols.
- Formulating and assessing soil and groundwater cleanup alternatives
to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Providing litigation support and expert testimony.
