Artificial Groundwater Recharge
Montgomery & Associates has carried out artificial groundwater recharge investigations to meet a wide variety of aquifer storage and recovery objectives. Through effective integration of experienced in-house staff and specialized sub-consultants, we build a team that can successfully take a project from reconnaissance investigations through permitting to full-scale recharge and recovery facility build-out. Careful evaluation of regional and site-specific hydrogeology is the key to helping our clients build the facility best suited to their needs. We design and conduct pilot studies to determine the relative benefits of recharge by surface methods and by injection wells. Computer model projections are instrumental for describing groundwater mounding and flow dynamics resulting from recharge activities. We have extensive experience in the design and construction of injection wells, and also focus on the long-term viability of injection programs by evaluating and implementing injection well redevelopment requirements, injection well operation and maintenance programs, and long-term monitoring and contingency plans. All along the way, we facilitate public outreach and information programs that provide the public with a thorough understanding of your project.
